So let me start by saying I know I am roughly ten years behind here, but recently, I’ve been (binge) watching The Sopranos. I LOVE Italian food (my husband does not), so it pains me to watch Tony and his “family” members stuff their faces with various Italian dishes in EVERY SINGLE EPISODE while I drool in front of the TV. I mention The Sopranos because not only was I treated like a member of the Delmonico’s family, but also encountered a few caricatures of some of the TV celebrities I (now) witness on a daily basis. Delmonico’s is a family founded Italian Steakhouse based out of New York. They have two locations in the Orlando area, with the Oviedo location opening most recently.
First up, drinks! I tried the sweet red wine and my husband had the cab. I typically am not a wine drinker, but I found both of these wines delightful! I had a few refills. We also tried some of their Martinis and Manhattans, both were strong and flavorful.
Happy Hour drinks are only $6, and these drinks pack a punch!
Next we tried some of Delmonico’s signature appetizers; Mozzarella Fritta, Bella Napoli, Italian Long Hot Peppers, and Calamari. My personal favorite was the Italian Long Hot Peppers, which are stuffed with ricotta, sausage, red pepper. Romano and Gorgonzola cheese, finished with Italian breadcrumbs and a balsamic glaze!
Most unique appetizer went to the Bella Napoli, which is an Italian style nachos! These are made with pasta chips, sausage, tomato, onions, banana peppers, provolone, and an Asiago cheese sauce!
At this point I thought my meal was complete, I was wrong! We tried so many different Italian specialties at Delmonico’s, I honestly think we may have tried the entire menu. I have some of my favorites pictured below:
Fettuccine Delmonico with Filet Mignon
New York Strip with Sweet Potato
One Pound Lasagna
Wood-Fired Salmon with Asiago Risotto and Frutti Di Mare
Chicken Marsala with Angel Hair Pasta
Some of my favorite things about Delmonico’s:
They have a wood-fired grill! Steaks and other dishes (Like the Salmon) can be cooked on this grill, which makes it more flavorful and juicy! I could tell the difference!
All the sauces are made fresh each and every day! I love this because the sauce can really make or break an Italian dish!
The portions are huge! Their entrees are a great deal for the quality and quantity of food you receive!
After feasting like Tony Soprano himself, I thought I would need to be rolled out of Delmonico’s to my car! Except… my sweet tooth was calling and Delmonico’s dessert menu lived up to any and all expectations. I loved each one of the desserts I tried!
House-Made Cannoli (even the waffle is freshly made!) Ahhh-mazing!
Cappuccino Pie! This was like an ice cream pie and it was so refreshing!
Rotating House-Made Cheesecake – Strawberry is this month’s flavor! This was probably the best cheesecake I have ever eaten. It was so light and fluffy and had a texture I had never experienced with cheesecake before!
Tiramisu! A classic!
I hope this made you hungry! Delmonico’s impressed my husband and he even wants to come back for the peanut butter cheesecake (another item he would NEVER order) haha. I’ll just say Delmonico’s blew us away with the quality and service offered at the newly opened Oviedo location. We truly felt like part of the family and can’t wait to return!
